About
Inspired by the everyday...
Inspiration is everywhere and it's often the little thing, every day things that have the biggest impact. Drawing on these little things and ordinary experiences Kimberley brings her love of two processes, clay and print, together to create her work.
Background
Kim is a member of Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor, Co. Down, she also works from her home studio, where on a good day you can almost taste the salt in the air coming in off the sea.

Kim rediscovered her passion for art making after having her third child. With two big kids in primary school, her mum offered to take her youngest to allow her to return to college. Monday morning leisure ceramics became a lifeline, the tactile nature of clay and an outlet for creativity was life-giving. Clay was under her nails, in her hair and on her mind.
Once all three children were in school she did a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media, during which time she fell in love with print making. Since then she has combined the two processes of ceramics and print.

Kim has a BA in Community and Youth Work from Durham University. She is pleased to be in a position to combine her knowledge and experience from her degree, time working as a youth worker and more recent studies to be able to offer friendly and considered art workshops for community groups.

She regularly shows her work in Seacourt and has previously had work selected for exhibitions including the Royal Ulster Academy and Fringe Arts Bath. Kim is also a member of North Down Craft Collective and has work available for sale through various stockists in Northern Ireland.

Studio Space
Kimberley works from her home studio, visitors are very welcome though only by prior arrangement. It's the perfect little set up, with Kirstie the kiln, Nigel the pottery wheel, a kettle and radio for company.
She also works from Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor City Centre. She teaches print making and has a particular interest in turning packaging into printable plates. It's the beauty and wonder in the everyday that she enjoys experimenting with most.
